American Big Guys Throwing Team A Not for Profit Organization Established 1989
Gary England is the Founder and Director of American Big Guys. A native of Indianapolis Indiana, he attended college at the University of Alabama on a track and field scholarship and received a BFA in Art and Design. He has owned several businesses in apparel design and sales, fitness equipment design and sales, information network installation and service, and design consulting. Additionally he has coached collegiately at Auburn University, University of Kansas, Villanova, Central Florida, Franklin College and Tulane University.
Gary started the team out of his pocket in 1989 with three throwers at the National Championships in Houston Texas, over the years he has published a newsletter, lobbied for the throws at the National Convention, hosted the First US Throws Coaches Summit and that same year started the Traveling Big Guys Party. Over the years he has been more and less involved in fielding a team, personal tragedy put an end to all but the party in 1995 but in 2015 with the generous help from one of his former throwers he took the team Non-Profit and began the rebuilding.
